Do I need to provide proof of income?
Yes. Proof of income is required as part of the affordability assessment for most applicants.
This helps confirm that the rent is affordable before your tenancy moves forward. Referencing is carried out by Homeppl, Morro’s third-party referencing provider, and they will let you know exactly what documents are needed for your circumstances.
You may be asked to provide:
- Your three most recent payslips
- A letter from your employer confirming your salary
- Recent tax returns or accounts, if you are self-employed
- Other income evidence, if your income is variable or comes from more than one source
Students are assessed differently and may not need to provide income documents in the same way.
To avoid delays, make sure anything you upload is clear, complete and matches the details in your application. If you are unsure what counts as proof of income, contact the Morro team before applying or respond directly to Homeppl during referencing.
