How long does referencing take?

Referencing usually takes 3–5 working days once all required documents have been provided.

The quickest way to keep things moving is to respond promptly to requests from Homeppl, Morro’s third-party referencing provider, and make sure the information you provide is clear, accurate and complete.

If anything is missing, unclear or needs further checking, Homeppl may contact you for additional documents or clarification. This can add time to the process, so it is worth keeping an eye on your emails after your application starts.

If you are applying with someone else, each adult applicant will need to complete their own referencing assessment. A guarantor, where needed, will also need to complete their checks before the application can move forward.

Morro will keep you updated as your application progresses. Once referencing is complete and satisfactory, your tenancy agreement will be prepared for signing, and the team will guide you through the final steps before move-in.
