What checks are required to rent in th UK?
Landlords in England are legally required to check that adult tenants have the right to rent property in the UK. This is called a Right to Rent check.
As part of your Morro application, you will need to provide identification and, where applicable, visa or immigration documentation. This helps confirm that you have the legal right to rent a home in the UK.
You may be asked for:
- Your original passport
- Visa or immigration documents, if these apply to you
- Any additional information needed to verify your Right to Rent status
Copies alone are not accepted where original documents are required for verification. If your visa or permission to stay has a time limit, follow-up checks may be needed before it expires.
Referencing is carried out by Homeppl, Morro’s third-party referencing provider, and they will guide you through what is needed for your circumstances.
