How long does it take to get my deposit back?

Your deposit is returned by the Deposit Protection Service (DPS), once the checkout process has been completed and the repayment has been agreed.

After you move out, the Morro team will inspect your home and compare its condition with the move-in inventory, allowing for fair wear and tear. If no deductions are needed, Morro will notify the DPS so the return can begin.

If deductions are proposed, the team will explain what they relate to. This might include damage beyond fair wear and tear, missing items, cleaning costs or other outstanding charges. Once you agree to the repayment instruction, the DPS will usually return your deposit within 7 working days.

If there is a dispute, the deposit will be returned after the DPS dispute resolution process has concluded.

To help avoid delays

  • Leave the home clean and clear of belongings.
  • Return all keys, fobs and access devices.
  • Provide your forwarding address.
  • Make sure your bank details are up to date with the DPS.
  • Respond promptly to any deposit repayment messages.

If you have questions after moving out, contact the Morro team or check your DPS account for the latest repayment status.
