Where are fire exits and assembly points?

Fire exits are clearly signposted throughout the building. Take a little time on your first day to notice the nearest route from your apartment, your floor and the shared spaces you use most often.

Your building’s fire safety information will show the evacuation routes and assembly point guidance. You may find this displayed in communal areas, within your building handbook, in the Morro App or on the back of your apartment door, depending on your building.

At The Altham, a dispersed evacuation strategy applies. This means that if you need to evacuate, you should move to a safe location at least 18 metres away from the building and wait for further guidance.

When leaving during an alarm, use the nearest safe fire exit and do not use the lift. Keep corridors, stairwells and exits clear at all times, as these routes need to remain available in an emergency.

If you are unsure where your nearest exit or assembly point is, ask the Front of House team. They can show you the safest routes and explain the building’s fire procedure clearly.
